Lee E. Alexander's Obituary
Funeral services for Lee E. Alexander, born on March 13, 1954, in Lufkin and died on March 30, 2026, in Lufkin, are scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10 A.M. in the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens.
Lee Earnest Alexander was born and raised in Lufkin, Texas, where he attended Lufkin High School. In 1972, he joined the U.S. Army, beginning a distinguished career that included service in Vietnam and two tours in Germany. After further assignments in Texas, Alaska, and Louisiana, he retired from military service in 1992. Following his time in the Army, Lee worked for the City of Lufkin from 1993 until 2020. In his retirement, he cherished time spent with Mary, his wife of 45 years. Lee’s greatest joys included grilling, bowling, watching movies, and spoiling his beloved dog, Fluffy. Lee passed away on March 30, 2026, at Woodland Heights Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Survived by: Lee’s Legacy, His Wife, Mary Thomas Alexander; Children, Mark Shemwell, Leona Sowell (Leneth), James Fredieu (Anna), and Elliot Fredieu (Laura); his seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Along with his Sister, Mona Alexander, and his two brothers, Charles Alexander and Norris Gene Alexander. Preceded in death by: Father, Norris Alexander, and Mother, Robbie Peterson
