Lina Mae Myers' Obituary
Funeral services for Lina M. Myers, 56, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020, at 12:00 noon at the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Myers was born on September 1, 1963, in Lufkin Texas, and died Sunday, June 7, 2020, in Lufkin.
Lina Mae Myers entered the world through the union of Oliver Charles Myers, Jr. and Lavell Myers on September 1, 1963 in Lufkin, Texas. She was the ninth of ten children.
Lina loved and was loved. She was a proud parent and grandparent. They were the apple of her eye.
Her life was truly devoted to God, her family, and friends. She was also a devout Christian. She accepted
Christ at an early age at West End Church of God in Christ. She adored her Pastor, Elder Willie Spikes, First Lady Charlotte Spikes and her entire church family. She made many friends and formed lasting relationships in her lifetime greeting everyone with warmth, love and her famous "affectious smile!"
She graduated from Lufkin High School in 1983.
On June 7, 2020 at 2:51 AM Lina won her battle, so God called her home.
She was preceded in death by her father O. C. Myers Jr., brother Oliver C. Myers Ill, sister Sythan "Monk"Myers, nephew Xavier Waters, Grandparents Oliver C. Myers Sr., Mary Lee Myers, Lina Mae Williams, Clarence Williams, Jessie Wortham, Johnnie B. Wortham, Jeff Stanley, Cora Castle and host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lina leaves to cherish her legacy and memory; her two loving Sons LaZereon "Dez" Myers Sr., and Gerrial Shields Sr. Four adorable grandchildren; LaZereon Jr., Dezia, Gerrial Jr., and Serenity. Her mother Lavell Stanley Myers. Her beloved siblings; Larry Myers, William Myers, Sheila Yarbrough (George), Quinn Myers Dove, Ronald Myers, Janice Myers Levias (Clifford), her devoted baby sister Latrell Myers; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles whom she adored. A special Cousin/Best Friend; Darcus Collins Moore; and Her lifelong Best Friends; Anita McGee, Terry Porter Owens, Elizabeth Reagan, Kenneth Douglass and Eldress Rhonda Norman-Jones, and one goddaughter LaShonda Patton.
