Funeral service for Linda C. Wade, 72 of Lufkin will be held 11AM, Sunday, December 21, 2025, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Milam, TX. Visitation will held 6PM, till 8PM,Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel.
Linda Carol Wade, was born on December 25, 1952 to the parentage of Wesley "Bo" Washington and Elree Hicks Washington. At the age of 72, she peacefully passed away on December 13, 2025.
Linda graduated from Hemphill High School, and was a dedicated employee of Temple-Inland for many years, where she was known for her strong work ethics and reliability. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family. Linda was a devoted Jehovah 's Witness; she was baptized on October 16, 2023, and faithfully served Jehovah until her passing.
More than anything, Linda was the steadfast anchor and unifying force of her family. She was truly the glue that held everyone together, possessing a rare gift for ensuing that no matter how busy life became, a family was always found it's way back to one another. Through her constant nurturing, the comfort ofher wonderful cooking, and her commitment to weekly phone calls that kept everyone connected. Linda was the heart and soul of their shared life. She leaves behind a legacy of closeness and unbreakable bonds that will continue to honor her memory.
Linda was preceded in death by her brother, James Washington, and her sisters, Judy Carol Washington and Bobbie Dabbs.
She is survived by her two loving children: Wesley Dodd and his wife, Shelia of Columbia, South Carolina and Courtney Dodd of Hudson, Texas.; Two cherished grandchildren: Tiffany Dodd and Valery Barts, ofGermany. Her memory will be carried on by her siblings: brothers, Larry Washington and Tommy Washington of Hemphill, Texas, and Rickey Washington and his wife, Paulette of Shelbyville, Texas; Sisters, Edna Tutt and Elma Washington both of Lufkin, Texas; She also leaves behind nephews, Corey Tutt and Stedman Edwards of Lufkin, Texas; also a host of other extended family members.
