Service for Ms. Lorine Rodgers Smith, 81 formally of Diboll is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church, in Diboll. Burial will follow in the Diboll Cemetery.
Lorine Rodgers Smith was born on June 11, 1941, to Joe and Sarah Rodgers in Diboll, Texas. She was raised in Diboll, Texas and was a graduate of HG Temple High School she married Joe Stribling and had 4 children. She had been employed by Temple Inland in Diboll, Texas where she remained until she retired in 1982. She later married CK Smith and remained married for 20 years until his death.
Mom was known for her loving spirit, and she was the best cook in East Texas. She was also known for her great cooking. She was the best fish fryer in Texas. Lorine was a member of First Shiloh Baptist Church in Diboll, Texas, where served faithfully in the food serving ministry. She truly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lorine was procced in death by her husband, CK Smith; A son, Winston Charles Stribling (Stephanie), her parents, Joe and Sarah Rodgers; 4 sisters, Audrey Lewis, Maurine Bray, Nell Faye Rodgers, Jerline Harris and 2 brothers, Jay Arthur Rodgers, Joe Nathan Rodgers; Granddaughter, Tiffany N. Darden.
Survivors; Children, Jeffery C. Stribling Lufkin, Texas, Teresa Warren (Kenneth) of Houston, Texas and Edward Stribling, Lufkin, Texas; Grandsons, Jeffery Stribling, Jr. (Sabrina), Gary Hargrove Jr., Omar Terry; Granddaughters, Wynicka Stribling, Latycia Sterns, Ebony Colston, Eliyah Stribling and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her Very special friend Minnie Jones.
