Funeral service for Lorne Johnson,56, of Lufkin will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at First United Methodist Church at 805 E. Denman Ave, Lufkin Texas 75901. Visitation will be on Friday in Colonial Mortuary Chapel from 5 p.m., till 7 p.m. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Mr.Johnson was born on August 29,1964, in Lufkin, died on October 1, 2020, Lufkin.
Lorne Fitzgerald Johnson, was born in Lufkin, Texas on August 29, 1964, to the late Johnnie Mae Serges and James Edward Johnson. He departed this life in the early morning hours Thursday, October 1, 2020.
Lorne was a man of many gifts, talents, skills, knowledge, and most of all a family man. He was a loving, devoted, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He served as Honor Guard in High School and was a member of the National Honor Society, as well as a graduating member of the Class of 1982. With his many gifts and talents he served as a Volunteer Fire Fighter and was a hard worker early in life for Brookshire Brothers, K-Mart, and Tinsley's. He would continue his career journey working for Lufkin Industries, Papermill and the City of Lufkin. Afterward, he pursued a degree in Nursing and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. He worked for several Health Facilities, (Memorial Hospital, Grace Care, Castle Pines, Pine Crest, Southland, and Parkwood), caring for those in need of healthcare until his health began to decline.
November 5, 1985, he united in marriage with Corine McFarland -Johnson of Lufkin, Texas, and that union was blessed with three children (Quincy, Kandice and Jaime).
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Johnnie Mae Serges and James Edward Johnson; Grandparents, Johnnie and Geneva Serges; Brother, Dewayne Johnson and Sister, Deidra (Dee Dee) Phillips.
He leaves to cherish his memories: A loving devoted and faithful wife of thirty five years, Corine Johnson; His children: One son, Quincy (Crystal) Johnson of Aurora, Colorado; Two daughters, Kandice (Alex) Blow of Lufkin, Texas and Jaime (J' Corey) Jolly of Houston, Texas; Grandchildren, Alana Blow, Christopher Blow, Destiny Blow, Mason Jolly, and Jaxx Jolly. Sisters, Sonji Watts, Dana Ford, and the late Deidra Phillips; Brother, the late DeWayne Johnson; Uncles and aunts, George Serges, Genova Oppenhammer, Odaye Washington, Kathy (Derrick) Morrison, Curl G. Carter; Nephews, Vincent Watts, Thomas Phillips Jr., Eric Phillips, Cavon Phillips, Lawrence Phillips, Antione Doggett, Timothy Doggett; Niece, Brittany Ford; God Sons, Jerridan Brown; God Daughter, Catera Brown, Kancesha Barnes; Special Mother in Law: Oria Jean McFarland; Brother in Law: Willie Earl Watts; Special friends, Mervin Rogers, Carl Kiel, Bruce Limbrick, Charles Walls and John King.
