The funeral services for Ms. Lula Brown, 79, of Lufkin will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Memorial Chapel Church, 290 Jackson Rd. Lufkin, TX. The burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Lula Mae Brown was born on April 8, 1945, to Almond and Leola Trotter Brown in
Campti, Natchitoches, Louisiana. She left this world to join the angels on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the age of 79. She was married to the love of her life Willie Brown for over 40 years.
Lula Mae dedicated over 40 years of her life as a Special Diets Cook at Memorial Hospital, where she took immense pride in preparing meals tailored to the needs of her patients. Her warmth and dedication were evident jn every dish she created, and she always greeted her colleagues and patients with a smile that brightened their day. In addition to her work at the hospital, she also served as a tax preparer at ComproTax and worked as a home health aide, finding fulfillment in helping others navigate their health and financial challenges.
Beyond her professional life, Lula Mae had a variety of interests that brought her joy. She loved watching game shows and staying updated with the news, but her greatest joy came from attending church and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. A woman of strong opinions, she was never shy about speaking her mind, ensuring that her thoughts were always clear and heartfelt. Family was her greatest treasure, and she relished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Brown, Lufkin, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Y-Mekia LaShay Brown Matthews,
TraKeesha Ni'Shell Brown, Jer-Mikel Brown, Ashley Brown, Da'Cedric Brown Pope, and Mia Brown; 5 great-grandchildren, Heaven Caldwell, Journey Caldwell, Ty'Kiece Bagley, Madison Hamilton, and Khoi Turner. Sisters: Ola Bell Hudson, Houston, Texas and Enora Brown, Lufkin, Texas. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lula Mae was preceded in death by: Her husband, Willie Brown, Her parents,
Almond and Leola Trotter Brown, daughter Brenda Jo Brown, her sister Gracie Morris, her brothers Edgar Thomas Brown and Joe Lewis Brown, and niece Ceretha Fowler, and brother in laws Leo Morris and Tom Hudson.
