Lynn Brian Chalfant
Lynn Brian Chalfant passed away after a lengthy illness while living at Parkwood Place, Luflcin Texas. The family sends a Deep and Heartfelt Thank You to all those that cared for Lynn during this time.
Lynn was born on January 26, 1937 in Harper Hospital in Detroit Michigan.
He was the only son of Nelson Clifford Chalfant and Dorothy Isabel Peltier Chalfant. He grew up with his three younger sisters in Cardington Ohio and graduated from Cardington High School in 1955 and Ohio State University in 1960. He served in the Army Reserves from 1960 to 1966. Lynn worked as a buyer for F&R Lazarus after graduation and Whitting Manufacturing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1966 he became a buyer for George R Klein News Company in Cleveland, Ohio and was transfer to Luflcin Texas in 1979 as Vice President of Sales for ETD-Entertainment Distribution Co. in Houston Texas and General Manager of Angelina Periodicals in Lufkin. Lynn was sure he'd died and gone to heaven as he was an avid fisherman and he had Lake Sam Rayburn in his own back yard. After retirement Lynn worked part time for Abney & Son's Hardware until 2005.
Lynn and Carol were active in Scouting while living In Bay Village Ohio and loved Traveling, Fishing, Camping, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Carol and sons William Nelson and Robert Lynn, daughter in law Tasha Paris Chalfant and grand daughters Keir and Reiss Van Nieuwburg. Also sister's Sharon Boger and Val Holtz. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilynn Bell, brother in law's Manus Boger, James Holtz, Bill Fox and nephew Randy Lorimer.
Cremation arrangements are made under the direction of Colonial Mortuary.
