Marcus Antonio Ford was born on July 11, 1970 in Lufkin, Texas to Roy Gene and Stella Ford and departed his earthly life on September 23, 2015 in Houston Texas.
Marcus was a lifelong resident of Lufkin Texas and attended Lufkin Public Schools and Angelina Junior College. At an early age Marcus became a member of Mt Calvary Baptist Church in Keltys, Tx.
Marcus had the most loving and infectious smile. When he entered the room his smile lite up the whole place and his swagger of a personality would melt your heart. He had the most calming spirit and had a way of turning even the worst situations into positives. He will be missed by many. Those that came in contact with Marcus have truly lost a great son, husband, brother, uncle and friend.
Marcus truly adored the love of his life, Audra and he was not bashful in showing his love for her.
Marcus loved sports, especially basketball and football. In his spare time he loved to help coach little league basketball and baseball. He loved spending quality time with his family and he thought he was the ultimate grill master of chicken.
He was employed at CHI St. Lukes Memorial (formally Memorial Health Systems of East Texas) for the last 15 years in various positions. He spent the last 10 years as a Telemetry Monitor Tech on Kurth 5 (K5). Marcus was greatly loved by all his co-workers and friends, he became like a big brother to some and a counselor to others. He had the ability to make you see things from a different perspective, which would make you mad, but he was usually right, though we never let him think differently. Marcus was an all-around awesome guy who never met a stranger.
Marcus leaves to cherish the love of his life, Audra Harris; his PARENTS: Roy Gene and Stella Ford. INLAWS: Wayne and Janette Harris; DAUGHTER: Alexis Nelson Ford of Houston Texas; SONS: Marcus Ford Jr and Ashton and Alec Forney and STEP DAUGHTER: Kim Chong, all of Lufkin Texas.
