Marilyn Ann Lewis' Obituary
Services for Marilyn Lewis, 72, will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 2:00 p.m. in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Garden.
Marilyn Ann Lewis, affectionately known as "Red" and "Pewee," passed away on January 4, 2026, at her daughter's home, surrounded by family and love. She was born on September 3, 1953, in Cleveland, Texas, to Izer Netter Bass and Herman Bass, both of whom preceded her in death.
Marilyn received the nickname "Red" from her sister, a name that stayed with her throughout her life and reflected her spirited personality. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Lewis, and her brothers, Charles Bass and Herman Bass Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her living brother, Sterling Davidson Jr. of
Cleveland, Texas; and her sisters: Eram Bass of Katy, TX; Shirley Harrison of
Conroe, TX; Brenda Bass of Conroe, TX; Neda Bass of Cleveland, TX; Marcella Bass of Cleveland, TX; Terry Bass of Katy, TX; and Bridget Bass of Houston, TX; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Marilyn is survived by her biological children: Cedrick Bass, Roshunda Bass, and Alicia Bass; and her immediate stepchildren, Cheryl Lewis and Kelvin Lewis.
She was a devoted grandmother to Tytorrious Jenkins, Detorrious Jenkins, Ca'Dedra Maxie, Ashley Bass, Ti'Esha Maxie, Jaylon Young, Alex Montgomery Jr., and many more grandchildren. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Wesley Wooten Jr., Trenton Wooten, Ariana Johnson, Kayden Ballard, Atreus Montgomery, Kaleigh Johnson, Kaydence Young, and many more.
Marilyn loved fishing and found joy in singing, c06king, and laughter. Her warm spirit, joyful heart, and deep love for family will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
