Mary Sterns' Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Sterns, 69, of Lufkin, will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2025, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary
.Mary Frances Sterns, was born on September 7, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas, to the parentage of the late Lizzie Pearl and Leroy Thomas.
She received her formal education from the Lufkin Independent School District and attended Dunbar High School. She had been employed at Parkwood Place Nursing Center from which she retired. Mary Frances had been married to Edward Charles Sterns for 51 years, and was the mother of three children, Terrick, Montravier and Valyncia. She was a member of Central Church of Christ for many years, and later joined Timber Creek Church where she was a faithful member until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death by: Her sisters Lois Joshua, and Barbara Thomas; Brother, Robert Thomas; Brothers-in-law, Charles McFarland, Elroy Sterns, Jr.; Mother-in-law, Odell Sterns; Father-in-law, Elroy Sterns; Sisters-in-law, Deborah ward, and Ida Mae Hill.
