Maxine Clark Trotty's Obituary
The funeral service for Maxine Clark Trotty, 84 of Lufkin will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., in the Mt. Dena Baptist Church, 1126 Cr 140 in San Augustine. Burial will follow in the Mt. Dena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am, till time of services at the church.
On October 14, 1939, Maxine Trotty, was born to the parentage of Irene Scott and Reverend J. W. Williams, Sr.
Maxine was a member of the Mt. Dena Baptist Church and mother of the Church. She was a Barber for 60 years for which she loved. Sis. Trotty was a Mission President and Trailer Blazer, for many years at Mt. Dena Baptist Church. She also had a daily prayer line until her health began to fail, however she continued to pray daily for many people.
On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Maxine Trotty departed this earthly life at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas.
She is preceded in death by: Her parents, mother Irene Scott and her father, Reverend J. W. Williams, Sr.; Her husband, Ike Trotty known as "Lumpy; Siblings, J. W. Williams, Jr., Arddis Williams, Johnny Williams, Willie B. Williams, Robert Charles Scott and Leon Scott; Mattie Williams Pratt, Shirley Carthon, Pearline Coleman and Lurlean Williams; Granddaughter, Clineecia.
Maxine Leaves To Cherish Her Memories:
Two sons, Joe Lewis Phelps (Steve) of San Augustine, Texas, Tommy Trotty of San Augustine, Texas; Grandchildren that she loved unconditionally: Jowanna "Nickey Burrell" Simpson (Adrian), Contessa Dade, Janika Trotty, LaToya Love, Noreka Brooks, Issac Trotty, Tomesha Trotty, Erick Johnson, Eli Goodman, Demetrice Martin; Many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; A loving sister/niece, Vilynda Holmes which had been by her side until her departure from this earth, and Mary Elmore of Shreveport, Louisiana; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
