Services for Melissa Lewis,44 of Lufkin is scheduled at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Melissa Faye Lewis was born on November 14, 1978, in Madisonville, Texas to the late Velma Lewis and Curtis Henderson.
She attended Madisonville Public Schools until she moved to Lufkin, Texas. Melissa was employed with several Healthcare facilities as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) until her health began to fail.
She had an amazing sense of humor and loved all her nieces and nephews very much as well as her siblings and many friends. Everyone that she met was considered her friend because of her pleasant personality and warm smile. She battled long and hard with Ovarian Cancer, until she made her transition on May 11, 2023, in Woodland Heights Hospital, Lufkin, Texas.
Left to cherish her memories: her loving sisters: Barbara Lewis, and Jessica Lewis, brother: Patrick Lewis; dear friend: Dennis Hulett, Jr.; host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
