Melvin Jackson's Obituary
The funeral service for Melvin Jackson, 60, of Lufkin will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Our Father's House of Faith,518 S. Third St., Lufkin, TX. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Mr. Melvin Jackson was born in Silsby, Texas May 14, 1963, to the late Minnion Garrett Jr. And Mary Lucille Reed.
He was a graduate of Center High School, Class of 1979. Melvin worked at Norbord Industries for 30 years.
Melvin was married to his wife Felicia Jackson for 22 years. Melvin was a great father to his step-sons Rashad and Jacoby. He loved his grandsons Jordan and Zion dearly.
Melvin was a sweet spirit and a man after God's own heart. He loved to spend time with family and play a good game of dominoes.
God called Melvin home on October 31, 2021, at 5:00 am in Houston, Texas.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents Minnion Garrett Jr.and Mary Lucille Reed; Brother, Eric Garrett; and Sister, Gloria Garrett.
He is survived by his wife Felicia, Stepsons Rashad and Jacoby, Grandsons Jordan and Zion; Father and Mother-in-Law Billy and Jeanette Shepherd; Sisters Nette Garrett and Machelle Hubbard; Brother Tony Garrett; Uncle Howard Ray Garrett; Aunts Ozell Garrett, Alma Brewer, Edna Foster, and Wanda Fay (Charles) Miller. Melvin also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
