Funeral Service for Michael Bass, 71, of Lufkin will be held at 11AM, Saturday, December 27,2025, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Sweet Union https://Cemetery.Mr.
Michael Lanier Bass was born to the parents of Ervin Bass Sr. and Ulelia Celestine Martin Bass in Crosby Texas. He attended Wells Schools, after which he joined the United States Army. He served from August of 1973 until 1977. He was honorably discharged in 1977. He then worked for Southern Pacific Railroad. Later he met and married Wilma Cole. To this union 2 children were born, Ja Cory Lanier and Erik Antwan Bass.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ervin Bass Sr. and Ulelia Martin Bass. His brother Gerald Bass, sister Margie Tarver and son Ja Cory Lanier Bass. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Wilma Bass, daughter Shanra Jones, son Erik Bass Sr., 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He leaves 3 brothers Ervin Bass Jr. (Laura), Carter Wayne (Paralee), Larry Joe (Brenda), and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
