Funeral services for Milton Rawls,95, of Corrigan will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021, in the Mayo Baptist Church located 308 S. West Street Corrigan Texas. Burial will follow in Union Springs Cemetry,994 Union Springs RD Corrigan, Texas 75939. Mr. Rawls was born on May 15, 1925, in Corrigan and died on Sunday, March 14, 2021, in Lufkin.
Milton Rawls was born in Corrigan, Texas on May 15, 1925 to Phillip Rawls and Minnie Hulett Rawls.
He attended W.W. Johnson High School and graduated in the early 1940's. He also attended Mary Allen College before entering into the Military, serving from February 1945 to 1947. He received five medals of Honor during his tenure in Stateside. Milton returned to College at Texas College in Tyler, Texas where he earned a B.A. Degree and a Teachers Certification in Math.
In April of 1950 he married Marine Spiller Rawls. Bro. Milton had been employed by Maxwell House in Houston, Texas where he was a supervisor for twelve years. He then relocated to Corrigan, Texas where he was a supervisor at Champion International until he retired after many years. He joined Mayo Chapel at an early age under the leadership of Minister Wesley. During the years he was a Sunday School Teacher, a Janitor and was ordained a Deacon under Reverend L.R. Bean.
Milton Rawls was a loving husband, and a family orientated man who leaves behind: Two daughters, Shandla Williams (Vernon) and Susan Callison (Clay). Grandchildren, Jaylon, Mary, Mya, Javarion Williams, Cole, Kodie and K.C. Callison; One great-granddaughter
Bexley; He also leaves a host of nieces, Lida Mitchell, Joyce Walker and Tamitra Fisher;
Nephews, Harold, Phillip, Nicholas, Stefan and Patrick Baker; Cousins, A.B. Hulett, Amos McGowan, Leon Walker. Other cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, his Church family and friends.
