Memorial services for Peggy Scurlock, 58, will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Mrs. Scurlock was born June 7, 1959 in Lufkin, TX. and died March 22, 2018 in Lufkin. Cremation under the direction of Colonial Mortuary.Peggy Haak Scurlock was born in Angelina County, Texas to Melvin and Betty Jo (Du Pree) Haak on June 7, 1959.
Peggy is in a much better place now. She has no more pain or sorrow. She is rejoicing in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. She grew up in Grapeland, Texas where she also attended school. She enjoyed having friends over, listening to music and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed family reunions, and her grandchildren. Her greatest accomplishments in life were receiving her GED after leaving school years earlier, working as a CNA and Medication Aide in various Nursing Homes in Diboll and Lufkin, Texas, as well as in Arkansas.
On March 22, 2018, Peggy departed this life in Lufkin, Texas.

Her husband, Willie Scurlock of Pennington; Son, Scott Haak of Lufkin and a brother, Matt Haak (Sandi) of Huntington; Two grandchildren, Zachary Shaw of Green Forest, Arkansas and Aaliyah Hill of Wells; Nephews, Dakota and Shane Haak of Huntington; Lots of other family members and beloved friends. Special friend, Ionya Frisby of Crockett.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Betty Jo Haak; Daughter, Briana Putnam Shaw; Husband, Jerry Wayne Putnam and a special friend Melinda Hudson.
