Funeral service for Richard Harris, 74 of Lufkin is schedule at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 16, 2023, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens.
Richard Earl Harris was born to the parentage of the late Foster and Lucynthia Harris, on June 30, 1949 in San Augustine, Texas.
At 12 years of age, he was baptized and attended the Sunset Church of Christ in San Augustine, Texas, throughout his childhood and adult life. He attended and graduated from Lincoln High School. After graduating, Richard was employed by Brookshire Brothers Warehouse until his retirement. Richard was passionate about giving back. He was always the first to sign up for a volunteering and helping neighbors in the community. From cleaning the Community Center, to helping neighbors with daily chores. Richard positively impacted his community, and he will be truly missed by all.
He left behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and a bond that extended across two families. Richard lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, and a profound love for his family. On April 28, 2023, Richard entered a new chapter of his life by joining in Holy Matrimony to Sheila Runnels with whom he shared a bond built on love, understanding, and shared dream until his death.
Richard Earl Harris, of Lufkin, Texas, passed away on December 7, 2023, surrounded by friends and family. Richard a beloved husband, father, and friend leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
