Jones Sr was born December 20th, 1944, to the parents of Willie D. and Hester Jones in Lufkin,
Texas. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School in Lufkin, Texas. Rolan retired from Champion
International Paper. Rolan enjoyed being the local mechanic, fishing, playing dominoes, working around his yard, watching sports and enjoying family time with his children and grandchildren. Rolan was a man of many strengths and accomplishments. Rolan served in the army during the Vietnam war. Rolan was also awarded the Purple Heart medal during his time of service. Rolan was very caring and would help anyone in need. Rolan Hayes was very witty and would tell you exactly what was on his mind. His honest demeanor is what made him so unique and trustworthy. He was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
