Rosa Preston's Obituary
A memorial service for Ms. Rosa Preston, 68, of Lufkin, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2022, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Colonial Mortuary.
Ms. Rosa Lee Perry Preston, affectionately called 'Rosa Lee" by family and friends was born on March 25, 1954, in Longleaf, Louisiana, to the proud parents, Crelious and Margie Perry. Rosa was the third child of five children born in this blessed marital union of forty-five years.
Rosa accepted Christ as her personal Savior at a young age. She attended Shiloh Baptist Church and Public Schools in Diboll, Texas. Thereafter, she met and married the late Willie Taylor Sr., and resided in Corrigan, Texas. To this martial union, three beautiful children were born: Aretha Taylor, Diane Taylor (deceased), and Willie Taylor Jr. (Deceased.) She later had a son, Anthony Taylor, and a daughter, Regina Hall. Throughout her Rosa's work ethic was exemplary. She worked in various professions, and she handled every work assignment with the utmost care and in the spirit of excellence. From an early age as a babysitter for her younger sibling Vienna to her employment at Pilgrim's Pride where she was employed at the time other passing.
During Rosa's settling in Lufkin, Texas, her greatest passion was spending valuable moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, teaching them to be respectful and productive citizens; inculcating God's teachings in their lives, as well as being the most imponent friend to talk to with when lite's problem seems to overwhelm them. She worshiped God out loud, studying the Bible daily. Rosa loved to travel, and taking cruises was one of her biggest enjoyments. Rosa had a big love for her family, including cousins and friends. Throwing a big family gathering was a great enjoyment for her. She was beautiful inside and out, always a lady. She cared for herself with grace and dignity. She had a wonderful outgoing personality and was a loving and caring soul supportive and loyal to many. She made a great difference in our lives and her influence is still being felt.
Rosa was preceded in death life by Her parents, Crelious and Margie Peny, Spouse, Willie Taylor Sr.; Eldest son, Willie Taylor, Jr; Younger sister, Vienna Williams and second daughter, Diane Taylor.
Rosa leaves to cherish her precious memories and cany on her legacy of faith, family, and love: Eldest daughter, Aretha Davis; Second son, Anthony Taylor; Youngest daughter, Regina Hall; Daughter-in-law, Tammy Taylor; Grandchildren, Reniqua, Jaron, Derrick, Dominique, Jonet, Zabrina, Jerlisha, Zion, Taylor, Aniya; 8 great-grandchildren; Oldest brother James Brown wife, Titiana of Humble, Texas; Sister, Onita Stewart of Diboll, Texas; Nephew, Nathaniel "Beau" Grassley wife, Tamu of Humble, Texas; Nieces, Brandy Brown of Humble, Texas, Ebony Brown of Humble, Texas, Sandra Stewart and Veronica Stewart of Diboll, Texas; A host of other cousins, church members, friends, and extended family members.
