Ruby Perry's Obituary
Graveside services for Ruby Perry, 84, formally of Lufkin will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2021, in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Mrs. Perry was born on July 27, 1936, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, in Plano.
Ruby Charlene Perry, was born to the parentage of the late Sam and Lucy Forney on July 27, 1936, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Ruby accepted Christ at an early age and joined the New Zion Baptist Church in Lufkin, Texas. She served as an usher and was part of the Mission Committee. Later in life, she moved to Dallas, Texas, she became a member of the Dimensions of Grace Church in Fort Worth, Texas, where she continued her walk with the Lord, serving as the Senior Mother of the Church, under the leadership of Bishop Cedric Kenebrew until her demise.
Ruby was a graduate of E.J. Campbell High School in Nacogdoches, Texas. She had been joined in marriage to Garland Perry who preceded her in death. They enjoyed this Godly union for over fifty years. She was an excellent cook and bowler. Her signature chocolate cake was second to none! She loved spending time encouraging and supporting young people.
Ruby was preceded in death by her sister, Omie Lee Williams; brothers, Hollis (Sugar Boy) Forney and B. Raney Forney.
On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, Ruby Charlene Perry departed this life in Plano, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Daughters, Golden Joyce Perry and Sherry Perry of Dallas, Texas; Sons, Kenneth Perry (Jo Anne) of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Tilfas Perry (Theresia) of Houston, Texas; Grandchildren, Terrance Perry, grandson whom she raised (Sheba), Shontae Perry, LeTyson Perry, Taylor Perry, Tylan Perry, and Tanner Perry; Great-grandchildren, Jaden Lester, Jadarien Lester, Jaleyce Lester, Tiana Perry, Layla Perry, and Tristen Perry; A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Special friend, Doris Durham.
