Services for Ruthie Mae Williams, 71, will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Visitation is Friday
from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary.
Ruthie Mae Williams (Holmes) was born on March 25, 1948 in Nacogdoches,Texas to Lee and Hercue Whitaker. At an early age she accepted the LORD and was baptized. She attended school in, Nacogdoches and Diboll were she played basketball and volleyball. She received her General Education Diploma in 1967.
She greatly enjoyed Interior Decorating, Reading, Gardening, Trail-Riding and Music especially B.B King. Her outgoing personality and smile enlighten any given moment.
She took great pride in the role of a courageous single mother and homemaker.
She spent 35 years being the companion of Mr. Jerrold O. Hill.
She is preceded in death by her father(Lee Holmes), mother(Hercue Whitaker), brother (Jimmy Holmes) daughter (Terrylynn-Williams).
She passed at 71, on September 27,2019.
She is survived by her brothers, Robert Carl Gasaway, Charles Lee Holmes and Alex Alexandria; sisters Eloise Harris, Mattie Lee Spencer and Thelma Scott.
Her children; Albert Eugene Holmes(Anna Holmes), Tia Holmes, Milton Browning Jr.,Sheasta Mott(Torres Mott), Tyler Adams Jr., Latysha Browning, Scipia Wade, Kunta Kinte Williams and Ohauca Williams. Seventeen loving grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and host of nieces and nephews.
