Sally (Jefferson) Hamilton's Obituary
Service for Mrs. Sally (Jefferson) Hamilton, 65, formally of Lufkin will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 1 p.m., at First Missionary Baptist Church, 410 Scarborough Street, Lufkin, Tx, 75904. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Hamilton was born on July 1, 1956 in Lufkin and died on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in Richmond. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 till 6:00 pm at Colonial Mortuary.
Ms. Sally Katherine Hamilton, was born on July 1, 1956 in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Henry Jefferson and Jerlean Jefferson. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church. Sally had resided in Lufkin, Texas most of her life, before moving to Richmond Texas in 2019.
She received her formal education from the Lufkin Independent School District, graduating from Lufkin
High School With the Class of 1974. While attending Lufkin High School, she became a member of the
Panther Pride Drill Team. She attended Angelina College and Stephen F. Austin University to pursue her Bachelors degree in Social Work. She was also a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Sally was employed at the Lufkin State School for almost forty (40) years. After retiring, Sally worked for Fort Bend Independents School District until her passing. She was of Baptist Faith and while living in Lufkin, she attended New Beginnings Baptist Church where she was an active member of the choir, After moving to Richmond, she attended The Fort Bend Church In Sugarland, Texas. Sally was known for her community involvement and advocating for those with special needs. She loved to travel, spend quality time with her family; especially her grandchildren. Family was very important to Ms. Hamilton as well as serving in a great capacity to others. She was known for her delicious desserts and dishes that were often requested at friends and family gatherings. She was had an avid lover of football and was an unwavering fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Sally was known for her beautiful voice and could Often be heard singing at church and family gatherings. She will be greatly missed by her family and dear friends.
On June 21, 2022, Ms. Sally Katherine Hamilton made her transition from this earthly life in Richmond, Texas. She was preceded In death by her parents, Henry and Jerlean Jefferson, her sisters Tawanda Jefferson and Debra Holman Phillips.
