Services for Secorrie Forney, 41,will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017
at 12:00 noon in the First Christian Church, 1300 South First St., Lufkin, TX. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 7:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary. Mr. Forney was born February 20, 1976 in Lufkin, TX. and died November 4, 2017 in Houston, TX.
Secorrie Demond Forney was a educator, and a resident of Lufkin and Houston, Texas. He died unexpectedly on November 4th, 2017 at the age of 41, in Houston, Texas. Secorrie is survived by his parents, William and Wanda Forney, and a brother and sister (W.K. and Valencia Forney.)
Secorrie was born in Lufkin, Texas on February 20, 1976 to William Forney and Wanda Forney. He received his formal education from North Shore High School, Class of 1995. During his time at North Shore, he excelled in Academics and Athletics. After his years in highschool, he went on to pursue a college education. Secorrie graduated from Texas Southern University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration. During his four years at Texas Southern University, he was an honor student in 1995, 1996, and 1997, and received Presidents Honors in 1998. Secorrie decided to further his education and received his Master of Science in Health Education in August of 2007.
Secorrie was an Educator, Physical Education Teacher, Supervisor, Mentor, and Research
Interviewer. He held these positions at Channel View ISD, North Forest ISD, and University of Texas-Public Health. He also was associated with these Professional Associations: National Association ofHealth Services Executives and Health Care Administration Club-Parliamentarian.
Secorrie loved to go to church and his church home was Christian Tabernacle in Houston, Texas, where he accepted Christ under Pastor Richard A. Heard. Secorrie was a loving, kind, caring soul and his spirit will forever be with each of us all. We know that his passing will bring us pain and sorrow, but we shall atay strong, and rejoice for this day has brought us together to grow stronger, heal, and love each other and move forward from this day forward together with love in our hearts and God guiding us to better days, Secorrie loves to smile, laugh, and have a good time and that's how we shall remember him. He loved the Lord and nonored him, until his last breath here on earth and he will continue to honor him for eternhy. We all should really understand the word "LObecause the Lord gave us the verse to live by when you really love someone.
