The funeral service for Ms. Stella Huitt, 63, of Lufkin, Texas will be held on November 23, 2024, at New Beginning Baptist Church, 1002 Pershing Ave, Lufkin at 11:00 A.M. The burial will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Ms. Huitt was born in Crockett, Texas on July 7, 1961, and died on November 13, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. Friday at Colonial Mortuary.
Stella Huitt, was born on July 7, 1961 in Crockett, Texas, to the parentage of the late Annie Ruth and Detroit Riggins, Sr.
She received her formal education from Crockett Independent School District, graduating from Crockett High School, Class of 1981. Stella attended Angelina Col lege, where she received an Associate Degree. She was a faithful member ofthe New Beginnings Baptist Church for many years. Stella was also a dedicate employee of Burger King for 3 5 years, and treated all ofher customers like family.

Crockett, Texas; Three sisters, Faye Ligon of Huntsville, Texas, Jenetta Willis (Leamon) ofLongview, Texas, and Shirley Jolley (Rodney) ofLufkin, Texas; Three nephews, Willie Simpson, Charles Riggins, Jr., Jerome Riggins; Two nieces, Alicia Riggins, Charwanna Cole, whom she helped raise, all of Lufkin, Texas; Two Goddaughters, Kaneshia Blackshire and Miracle Riggins of Lufkin, Texas; A wealth of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
Stella is preceded in death by, Her parents, Detroit and Annie Riggins; Brothers, Thomas Brown and Clarence Riggins and her husband, Darwin Huitt.
