Service for Stevie Holland, 58, of Lufkin is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 1 p.m., at T.L.H. Outreach Ministries Church 310 N.Chestnut Lufkin TX,75901. Interment will follow Davis Memorial Garden Cemetery. A viewing will be held before service at 11 a.m., til service. Mr. Holland was born on September 21, 1961, died on Friday, January 17, 2020, in Lufkin.
Stevie Dwight Holland was born in Dallas, TX on September 21, 1961, to the late Ella Davis and Waverly Holland. The quote "It takes a Village a Child" came into play for Stevie when Mr & Mrs. Jessie Mae Davis gladly welcomed him into their family and reared him to become the hard-working and loving man that he became and truly was. Stevie attended Public School in Dallas, Texas and after his graduation, he moved to Lufkin, TX. His job careers consisted of being employed with Lufkin Foundry, Atlas Van Lines and Denman Moving and Storage until his retirement in 2012.
Mr. Holland met the Love of His Life in 2005 and later married his soulmate, "Doll". He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a man of faith as well as a true believer of the Power of Prayer. He was a Cowboy in his own right and loved to dress nicely. He always referred to himself as "looking clean". Stevie was a quiet, loving and selfless man who was loved and will be truly missed by many, He remained humble throughout the battle of cancer and was steadfast in his faith which exceeded the grain of a mustard seed. On January 17, 2020, Stevie received his call for Glory. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ella M, brother, J.T. Davis, and father-in-law; Bishop Alfonse Hodge Sr; Leaves to Cherish his Beautiful Memories: His devoted wife; Benita D. Holland, daughters: Jasmine (Morgan) Holland-White, Lewisville, TX, JaKoya and Joslyn Grimes both of Lufkin, TX, sons: Stevie Jr. (LaKesha), Longview, TX, Brian, Lufkin, TX and Darion Holland, Dallas. TX. Sisters and Brothers: Renee Stewart, Jackie Powell, Teresa King, Fredrick Wright, Stanley (Mary) Willie Crumbley, and Ronald Davis all of Dallas, TX; Mother-in-law: Erma L. Hodge; Sister and Brother in laws: Peggy Sturgis, Mattie Holmes, JoAnn (Ricky) Autrie McGrew, Robert (Stephanie), Dale (Darlene) Hodge, Glenn Hodge and Eric (Chistina) all of Lufkin, TX. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
