Sundra Loraine Collins' Obituary
Services for Sundra Loraine Collins, 75, formerly of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas.
Sundra was born on February 26, 1950 in Lufkin, Texas, to Ben J. Collins Jr. and Gladys Lorraine Collins. Sundra graduated from Dunbar High School with the Class of 1968, and was the Class Valedictorian receiving a full ride scholarship to Rice University and the University of Houston. Sundra chose to attend Texas Southern University and majored in Pharmacy. She also graduated Cum Laue after doing a work study at Baylor College of Medicine. She observed and learned under such acclaimed doctors such as, Dr. Debakey the renowned Heart Surgeon.
She became a Pharmacist Licensed in Texas, and Chicago, Illinois. Sundra relocated to Chicago and was employed for Walgreens for twenty five years, later relocating to El Paso, Texas where she continued her employment for twenty seven years, Sundra loved working with the public and helping patients understand their prescriptions. She had been inducted into several honor societies and was the winner of more than twenty chemistry awards. Sundra was a quiet soul, and never wanted to let too many people into her circle. She loved her family dearly, and was always concerned whether they had enough. She was kind, loving, and generous to those in need. Her friends and coworkers loved and adored her, and looked after her. Her sister, Debbra relocated to El Paso, Texas to be with her, June 4, 2023 helping her with whatever she needed.
They had lots of laughter, love, fun and had two years and eight months. Sundra was known for her personal qualities, passions, hobbies, volunteer work, community involvement, faith, and dependability.

Sundra is preceded in death by: Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben J. Collins,Jr.; Her
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ledell Little, Rosie Lee Collins, Ella Burris and Georgis Bradford.
