Service Mrs. Thelma Burleson, 94, of Crockett, will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Alto Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Linwood Cemetery, Alto Texas. Mrs. Burleson was born on February 19,1928, in Alto, and died on Thursday, July 29, 2022, in Crockett.
Thelma Colleen Guinn Burleson, was the sixth child born to Mr. Frank and Mrs. Lemeater Guinn on February 19, 1928 in Alto, Texas.
Her parents led her to know Jesus at an early age and she continued faithful all ofher life. Thelma attended public school in the Alto School District. She lived in Alto for many years before moving to Houston, Texas for a few years. Later, she moved to Crockett, Texas,
During her Life Journey, she was a member ofAlto Church of Christ, Church of Christ in Houston, Texas, Lacy Hill Church of Christ in Crockett, Texas, then Grapeland Church of Christ, where she remained until the Lord called her name. During the early morning hours of July 28, 2022, our Loving Father in Heaven whispered her name, and we pray that He dispatched His angels to escort her home.
Mrs, Burleson was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Guinn; Sons, John Sharon and Dwight Vozell; Grandson, Kevin McDaniel; Siblings, Lurline Smith, Carl B. Guinn, Frank B. Guinn, HatTison Guinn, Jack Guinn and Carl Guinn.
Survivors left to cherish precious memories include: Children, Darla Lewis (Hillard) of Beaumont, Texas, Lenetha Carter of Crockett, Texas, Beverly Jackson of Houston, Texas, Helena McDaniel (Alvin) of Grapeland, Texas, Oletha Murray and Eric Burleson Of Crockett, Texas; One sister, Georgia Powers of Arlington, Texas; One sister-in-law, Novella Guinn of Alto, Texas; Adopted son and daughters, Charles Blevins, Celicia Johnson and Brenda Vasquez; Sixteen grandchildren; twenty du-ee great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
