The funeral service for Theodore Davis, 77, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Goodwill Baptist Church, 812 E. Lufkin, TX., Lufkin, TX. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery
.Deacon Theodore Eddie Davis Sr. was born in Kountze, Texas in 1947 to Ed Ben Davis and Lillian Perry Davis. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age.
He was happily married to Vera Mae Reed of Lufkin, Texas and over the years had seven children. He worked for Atkinson Candy Company as supervisor for more than 30+ years, until his retirement.
He was a proud member of Goodwill Baptist Church; he loved his church dearly. He worked diligently as a servant leader as a trustee, deacon and superintendent of Sunday School.
His survivors include: His daughters, Rhonda Davis, Waco, Texas; Carol Levine
(Walter) of Lufkin, Texas; Dina Kotokou (Alex) of Waco, Texas, Hithia Stansbury of San
Marcos, TX; Son, Theodore (Ted) Davis, Jr. of Lufkin, Texas; Grandchildren,
Antareous McAfee, Joshua Lilly, Riana McAfee, Gabrielle Levine, Anthony Stansbury Jr, Andrew Stansbury; Great-Grandchild, VidaRae Lilly; Sisters, Ardella Davis (Dallas), Lillian Mitchell (Tyler); A wealth of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to cherish his memories. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Deacon Theodore Davis is preceded in death by his wife Vera Davis, son Keith Williams, daughter Sonia Reed, his parents, brothers, Eddie Joe, Billy Roy, Willie Lee, Billy Ray, Chester Lee, Bryant Keith, and sisters Sarah Davis and Debra Whitmill.
