Mr. Thomas O'Neal McFarland, Sr. "Tommy"
Thomas O. McFarland, Sr. was born on October 27, 1938, the third of twelve children born to the late Carlisle Sr. and Irene McFarland of Lufkin, TX. He attended Lufkin schools in his early years and began working at an early age. Thomas met and married Kathryn Davis and to this union, eight children were born. He retired from Lufkin Industries in 2002 after 35 years of employment.
A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time on the lake fishing with his beloved wife, as well as talking on his CB radio and riding motorcycles. His devotion to his wife was further displayed when he became her primary caregiver when she fell victim to Alzheimer's. After the passing of his wife, he himself became ill and suffered from a stroke, after which he was very well taken care of by his loving daughter, Kathy McFarland. He confessed and accepted Christ as His Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 1, 2018.
