Thomas Ray Phillips was born on August 9, 1959, in Lufkin, TX, and received his formal education from Lufkin Independent School District. He worked and retired from Pilgrim Pride after 30 years of service.
Ray departed this life on Sunday, August 2, 2020. He was proceeded in death by his father, and sister Eva Ann Robinson.
Ray will be forever remembered in the hearts of his Wife,
Marion Turner Phillips; mother, Ardel Waters of Lufkin; brother,
James Payton (Beverly) of Lufkin; sister, Tommie Jean Mettlen (Lonnie); sons, Thomas Ray Phillip, Jr (Melissa) of Atla Georgia, Eric Phillips (Jennifer) of Dallas, Cavon Phillips (Jenifer), Lawrence Phillips (Kristy), and Trevion Skillern all of Lufkin; his daughters Jelisha Turner, and Jalara Skillern both of Lufkin; his aunt Minnie Hayes and uncles Frank Davis, and John Monroe all of Lufkin. He also leaves 11 grandchildren,2 special friends Jason Wilson and Johnny Bell, and a wealth of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his memory.
