At 17, she gave her life to Christ, being saved and filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the late Elder John Woods at Zion Temple COGIC.
A proud graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1965, Tincy went on to marry the love of her life, Mr. Melvin Curtis Harris, in 1966. The couple began their life together in Houston, Texas where their first three sons were born. Later, the Harris family relocated to Lufkin, Texas, where they welcomed and raised eight more children.
While supporting her husband in raising their large and loving family, Tincy worked as a cook at Lufkin High School for two years. In 1997, the family briefly moved to Norfolk, Virginia, before returning home to Lufkin in 1998.
Tincy was a dedicated and faithful member of Woods Memorial COGIC, where she served as a member of the Hospitality Committee, a fervent Prayer Warrior, and a spirited Choir Song Leader under the leadership of the late Supt. Chester Robinson. In 2004, Tincy moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she furthered her education at Stratton University, earning a degree in Medical Billing and Coding.
Tincy's life was filled with purpose and joy. She loved reading, cooking, solving puzzles, fishing, and singing praises in church. Her faith in God was unwavering, and she instilled those same values in each of her children, raising them to love the Lord and believe in the power of His word.
