On December 25, 1928, a beautiful baby girl was born to Ceasar Mallory and Vennie D. Kirkland in Nacogdoches, Texas. They named her Tommie Jean Kirkland. She transitioned from this Earthly Life to her Heavenly Life on February 12, 2022, at her residence in Corrigan, Texas. She was educated in the Nacogdoches Independent School District. She confessed to Christ at an early age. She united with Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas, and faithfully served in many capacities, namely Choir Member, Women's Mission Society, and Mother of the Church until her health failed.
She met and married the love of her life, Luther White, Jr. of Corrigan, Texas. Through this union, they were blessed with 9 children.
Her employment career included working as a housekeeper for the families of the Segal's and Eden Burch in Corrigan, Texas, and several loyal years with Temple-Inland in Diboll, Texas before her retirement.
Our mother walked this earth with dignity and grace plus an inner strength that defined her generation. "She fought a good fight." Like many in her generation, she believed in honor and integrity and coached everyone to always do the right thing.
She loved gardening and was an excellent cook. Specialties of hers consisted of sweet potato pie, greens, and fried apple pie.
Love and memories will remain in the hearts of her children, Carolyn Horace, and James White
