Funeral service for Vallas Starghill Jr,76, of Diboll are will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 6,2021 in the Providence Church # 1 located 394 Providence Church, Leggett, Texas . Burial will follow in the New Wensley Cemetery. Mr. Starghill was born on November 3,1944, in Camden and died on Thursday, October 28, 2021, in Lufkin.
Mr. Vallas Starghill, Jr. was born in Camden, Texas on November 3, 1944 to the parentage of the late Vallas and Mary Starghill.
He completed high school in Chester, Texas and married Iva Louise Taylor. They relocated to Diboll, Texas in 1968, and to this union three sons and a daughter was born. He had been employed by Natural Gas Pipleline Company of American for many years. Vallas resided in Diboll until his passing. As a young boy he followed his father around and learned to perfect the skill of carpentry. He also had a passion for music, especially playing the guitar. Vallas was a true man of God, and he loved his family. Nothing made him happier than barbecuing every year on the 4th of July and having as much family as possible come over to eat, show love to one another, and have a great time. He was kind to everyone and loved sharing his knowledge and wisdom. He was a dedicated loving husband, and an amazing father. He was the true definition of a provider, and made sure his family had everything they needed. He was also very proud of his grand-kids. They were his pride and joy. Vallas was loved by the entire community, and he will be greatly missed.
Vallas was preceded in death by: his parents, Reverend Vallas Stargill Sr., and Mary Bailey Starghill; Sisters, Rebecca Faye Shiner, Mary Etta Allen and Rosetta Starhgill.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His loving wife of 55 years, Iva Louise Starghill; Three sons, Vallas Starghill, Ill, Anthony Starghill and Malcolm Starghill; Daughter and son-in-law, Torya and Romero Christian, Two grandchildren, Christy Doyle and Justin Christian; Brothers, Marvin (Ann) Starghill, Lorinzo (Carol) Starghill and Matthew Starghill; A host of nieces and nephews, greatneices and great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
