Graveside service for Vera Blake, 64, of Lufkin will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021, in the Davis Memorial Garden. Mrs. Blake was born on October 1, 1956, in Crockett, and died on Monday, March 8, 2021, in Lufkin.
Vera Nelson-Blake was born on October 1, 1956 in Crockett, Texas, to Lucille Wortham and Charlie Nelson.
She attended Lufkin High School and Angelina College. Mrs. Blake had been employed at the Lufkin State School for over twenty five years from which she retired.
Her livelihood consisted of cooking and decorating, and she loved to spoil her grandchildren and children. Mrs. Blake loved everyone she encountered. She was helpful to everyone and never met a stranger.
On March 8, 2021, Mrs. Vera Blake made her transition from her earthly life to her heavenly life.

Her daughter, Monique Burse; Sons, Christopher Burse and
Casey Burse (Demonica); Grandchildren, Casey Burse Jr., Cayden Burse, Dadrionna Patterson and Mariah McQueen; Her mother, Lucille Butler; Sister, Alice Nelson; Brothers, Tommy Butler (Tammy) and 1--loward Nelson (Senorthy); a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: Father Charlie Nelson and a sister, Jacqueline Butler.
