Visitation services for Verryn Harper, 77, of Lufkin will held Saturday, March 16, 22024 at Colonial Mortuary from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. Burial ceremony and military honors will be held in the Houston National Cemetery
Monday, March 18, 2024, at 11:30 a.m.
.Verryn Vernard Harper, was born to the parentage of the late Vernon & Mattie Harper In San Augustine, Texas on October 12, 1946.
Verrryn was raised in Lufkin, Texas where he attended the Lufkin Independent School District. He later joined the United States Army where he served for 21 years including time during the Vietnam War. He also had been employed as a truck driver for many years. His livelihood consisted of traveling for adventure, cooking, and always making people laugh.
On March 1, 2024 Verryn Vernard Harper, Sr., made his transition from his Earthly Home to his Heavenly Home.
Preceded in death by: His parents, Mattie and Vernon Harper; Siblings; Peggy Galloway Harris and Ruby Leblue.
Left to Cherish His Memories:
His children, a son, Verryn Harper, Jr; Daughters, Carmen Harper, Yvonne Harper, Anita Harper, Clarice Harper; Brother, Jerome Harper; Sisters, Madelin Barrett, Edna Robinson; A host of cousins, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and other extended family and friends.
