Walter Shelton Jr.'s Obituary
Memorial services for Walter Shelton, 74, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Mr. Walter was born on November 19, 1943 in Livingston, Alabama to the parentage of Mary Julie Cosby Shelton and Walter Shelton, Sr.; both preceded him in death.
Later in life Walter moved to Los Angeles, California where he met and married his loving wife of fifty years; Clementine "Tina" Martin Shelton. He was a member of Roger Williams Baptist Church, Los Angeles, California where he served as an Usher. He was a Factory Worker until his retirement. After retirement he and his wife moved to Lufkin, Texas. His favorite food was fish and purple hull peas. He was a joyous person and was loved by all he met.
Those who remain to cherish his memories are his wife; Clementine Martin Shelton, brothers and sisters-in-law: Prophet James (Ann) Shelton and Willie (Lorena) Shelton all of Lufkin, Texas; Alphonso & Wife Shelton, Bessemer, Alabama, James D. "Brownie" Shelton, Wildwood, New Jersey and Joseph Shelton, Livingston, Alabama. Sisters: Polly Calloway, Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Ella Shelton, Los Angeles, California. Special nieces Mary Martin Myers, Beaumont, California and Betty Brooks, Los Angeles, California. A devoted friend Donna Matthews, Sun City, Arizona and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. He will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Minnie Dykes of Alabama and three brothers; Lemon Shelton, Johnnie Shelton and Chester Shelton all ofAlabama.
