Brother Wedell Tinsley, Sr. was born August Il, 1929 to Ada Morrison and Willie D. Tinsley. He lived in Pollok, Texas most of his life. At an early age, he worked the fields with his grandfather, Wiley Morrison, and took care of his mother and siblings, which left little time for an education.
At the age of 16, Wedell began working in the timber industry. He was a log truck driver for Buster Fenley, Jim Gordon Bell, Theo Johnson, Grady Felder, J.D. Pinner and retired at the age of 62 driving trucks with David Duran.
While passing though Kennard one day, Wedell saw a beautiful, young lady pulling a 'lil' red wagon; he wanted to take her out on a date so he told Theo Johnson to ask her father if he could. Her father said yes and the rest is history! Wedell and his "yellow Hamma" Thelma Jean wed on August 19, 1960 and made Pollok their home. From this union came three children and two bonus children.
On January 20, 2000, Wedell became both a member of and was baptized at New Center Prospect Baptist Church.
Wedell was truly a family man and put his family first. He took care of his precious wife, children, and grandchildren. His family described him as the perfect definition of a husband and father.
