Della was a true friend of mine. Her heart was as big as her smile. I have known her for many years. I'd often call and text her to find out how she was doing. She'd always reply, "I am doing fine my friend, How are you doing, how is school? I am so proud of you. Thank you for checking on me." What a dear sweet friend she was. I will forever cherish the memories of my forever friend.
Della worked with my mom Kathy and grandmother Naomi for many years at Woodland Heights in the ICU department. When I would sit in the nurses lounge waiting for my mom or grandma to get off from work, she always would talk to me. She always had a smile on her face and was one of the sweetest people you could meet. Della will be dearly missed by many.
Della was a great Lady and a very sweet person. Whenever any of our family was in the hospital, Della would make sure that we received the care that we needed. She will be missed.
I worked with Della for 15 years at Woodland Heights Hospital and have many fond memories of those years. Della was kind, courageous, with a wonderful sense of humor. She was always an advocate for nurses and was never afraid to stand her ground. We had lunch together about 2 years ago after she had started dialysis. Della handled this stage in life with her usual pragmatism and sense of humor. I loved her and respected her greatly and will miss her.
