Della Malone's Obituary
Graveside services for Della Malone, 72, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. in the Davis Memorial Garden.
Della Malone was born on October 11, 1948, to the union of Alma Hale and Ferguson Robinson in Nacogdoches, Texas. She graduated from E.J. Campbell High School in 1967 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
She began her nursing career working as a Registered Nurse at Woodland Heights Medical Center in 1980. Della served as a nurse there for 41 years where she performed various roles in the nursing department but primarily served as a nursing leader. She was a dedicated and loyal employee and a genuine servant to humanity. Della had a passion for people with a heart of gold and a genuine desire to bless others.
Della shared an interest in shopping, interior decorating, and event planning with special friends Delphina Maxie and Janie Lee. Her other interest was traveling, watching western television shows, spending time with family and friends, working with her colleagues, and sharing special times with her dog, Milo. Della was loved and respected by many and will be missed immensely.
On February 15, 2021, Della Malone departed this life. Della was preceded in death by her parents Ferguson and Alma Robinson; and other siblings Helen McKinney, Bobbie Jean Robinson, Carl Robinson, Jackie Robinson, and Jerry Robinson.
Della is survived by three children; Yolanda Malone, Vanessa Horton, and Eric Malone from her union with Lynn Malone and shared her latter years with Jerry Spencer; grandson, Bryce Horton; a host of nieces and nephews and a special goddaughter, Aaliyah Jo’Gena Maxie who she loved greatly.
