You were like a father to me. My rock; gosh i will never forget you Uncle Rhodes. You will always hold a special place in my heart. From the endless summers that I stayed with Aunt Pat taking care of her and listening to her and all of her stories and of course her listening to mine. I'll just wait until I see you again. But i know you will always be there for me in spirit and in my heart. I love you and Aunt Pat with all my heart. Never will you be forgotten.
My deepest sympathy upon the death of Dr. Odis Rhodes to Mrs. Rhodes and others of Dr. Rhodes family. I had the privilege of having Dr. Rhodes for a professor at Stephen F. Austin many years ago. I will always remember what a wonderful teacher he was. I had many professors while I was working on my graduate degree at SFA and Texas A&M, but without a doubt Dr. Rhodes was one of the best. He was very knowledgeable in the field of education and was able to communicate his insight and ideas to members of the class in a manner that was interesting and thought-provoking. He never made students feel embarrassed, but had a way of always encouraging and inspiring us. I am very thankful for the opportunity to have sat in his class and will always remember what a fine teacher he was.
