Services for Dr. Odis Rhodes, 84, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the
First Missionary Baptist Church, 410 Scarbrough St., Lufkin, TX Pastor W. R. Ricks will be the Eulogist and rev. Ralph Shepherd, pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Nacogdoches, TX. will officiate.Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Nacogdoches, TX. Visitation will be Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dr. Rhodes was born January 23, 1931 in Nacogdoches, TX. and died April 17, 2015 in Lufkin, TX.
Dr. Rhodes is survived by his wife of sixty years, Hattie V. Rhodes of Lufkin, sisters, Ruth Doucette and Mazell Lee both of Houston, TX., special niece, Brenda Gooch- Gallo of Sherman Oaks, California; special cousins, Gene Sanders of Desoto, TX. and Margie Vernell Sanders of Cedar Hill, TX.; Sister -in - law, Bobbie Kennedy and Arnest Jackson of Lufkin, TX. Sammie Rhodes of Modesto, California and Exzetta Rhodes of Oakland, California; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of young cousins.
